Skin care 2010

Hi dolls! Happy New Year!

I hope the holidays were as great for you as they were for me.

This Winter Wonderland Movement has officially taken over, it is ridiculously cold EVERYWHERE!! You've got Iguana's freezing in Florida and falling out of trees?? I figured that a lot of people are going through it this year with overall skin care, and trying to maintain that flawless skin you were rocking last Summer. Yes I too love my sun kissed skin; and I have pulled out all the stops to make sure this weather doesn't have my skin cracking!

Here are a few of my favorite skin products and routines that are helping me make it through this weather situation...

Tip 1.
Try to limit the number of hot baths you take each day, I prefer to shower at night and then steam my face in the morning; this way you're not removing essential oils from your skin that are necessary to keep that glow.

Tip 2.
Baby oil! Johnson & Johnson Baby oil is the truth! It it that same oil your mother used on you as a baby, and it still works wonders. As soon as you step out of the shower, apply baby oil evenly before drying, in order to lock in moisture. (Once in a while switch it up and use Olive Oil)

Tip 3.
Vaseline Intensive care moisturizing lotion, I love it! It will leave your skin feeling super soft, and I love the way it smells.

Tip 4.
Some people like to apply Vaseline to their legs in order to keep out the cold; but I really don't like the way that it feels, so I prefer to apply thin coat of Palmer's cocoa butter to my legs, it does the job and smells great too!

Tip 5.
My favorite face products are the Cetaphil skin care line, it's available at all drugstores; the moisturizing lotion is great for your face and the same goes for the gentle cleanser. If you have sensitive skin this is ideal for you!

Tip 6.
That good old Shea butter from the motherland! You can literally use this stuff for anything! It works wonders; try to avoid using it on your face though, but you can use it anywhere else....I love applying it to my legs and feet at bedtime. (It's available at beauty supply stores in mostly urban areas or any African convenience store)

Tip 7.
Your skin is extremely delicate during winter time, so try to avoid shaving on a regular basis as your skin is subject to razor burns etc. I prefer to use Nair during the winter time, because honestly I can't do the whole 6 months without shaving thing.

**And lastly, you are what you eat! If your body is not receiving the adequate nutrients, this will be reflected in your skin. So eat those veggies, fruits, and drink plenty and plenty of water!!! Working out is a great way to sweat out all those toxins that don't need to be in you. Green Tea is a good look too, I swear those antioxidants have me looking extra fresh**

I hope my tips help you all make it through this brutally frigid weather!

Stay FAB!!
